Best For Dance Music
We Are Fstval 28-29th May – £99
This festival takes in the great innovators of the industry and propels a club music vibe. With a presence from Defected Records, staged in an old WW1 airfield in Essex named ‘The Field of Dreams’ this is the perfect ground to get your groove on. We Are Fstval have curated a line up that paves the way for their biggest year yet expecting crowds of 30,000+. Some masters you will see are; Fatboy Slim, Loco Dice, Mista Jam, Armin Van Helden, Sub Focus, Camo and Crooked. With 16 stages, 200 artists and more incredible EDM masters than ever before, the third year of this event is set to be explosive.
The People’s Choice
Park Life – Manchester Jun 11th – 12th -£130
OHH the people… so many people! This line up is one not to miss with the likes of Chemical Brothers, Chase and Status, Ice Cube, Soul II Soul, Major Lazer, Kano and Lethal Bizzle guiding this 2 day festival. Whether you want to reminisce with some old classics or want to visit the Warehouse Project in open air, then this is for you.
The festival has opted with a Space Age theme this year with a fully interactive website that sets the seen for whats to come. As always the flamboyant, tropical themed Elroy stage will not disappoint! The festival VIP area is set to be a step into extraterrestrial with roaming performers, Alien Margarita Shack and Space Age ales.
Best New Comer
Wildlife Festival 11 -12th June- £115
Disclosure and Rudimental present their festival for the second year running… and they’re bringing friends! Produced and presented by SJM Concerts and The Warehouse Project, festival goers wont find a seaside festival packing as much talent as this. Featuring Kings of old skool and new including Bust Rhymes, Ice Cube, Carl Cox, De la Soul, James Bay and Jackmaster. This collective of artists is spread across four stages in the location, which is Brighton’s City Airport. Last year praised for its sell out success and good natured crowds, this year is set to be bigger and better.
The New Ibiza
Hideout Croatia, Novajla 26th – 30th June – £152
This 5 night festival with over 100 DJ’s hosts House and techno giants that will play the sound track to your summer. Previous goers describe it as ‘the new Ibiza’. With ocean side and pool side performances along with boat parties and art installations there is something here for everyone. Projecting house and electronic music from the Croatian beach of Zcre, this diverse cast will see performances from MK, Jamie Jones, Julio Bashmore. Special guests from J.E.S.U.S, Jackmaster, Eats Everything, Skream und Seth Troxler.
Best Budget Abroad
Benicassim – Benicassim Spain July 14th -17th – £120
Located in the sunny town of Benicassim Spain, this festival has the reputation of being one of the best in Europe. In the proximity of several beaches with breath taking views, this is one for the sun seekers. With cheap flights to Alicante and transfers to the festival there’s no reason why this Spanish retreat can’t entertain your ears. This years line up is a range of pop, rock and electronica artists including Massive Attack, Kendrick Lamar, Block Party, Snake Hips, Jamie XX and the Vaccines.
Best City Festival
LoveBox – Victoria Park, East London, 15- 16thJuly -£94
This 2 day festival was originally the brain child of Groove Armadas, Andy Cato and Tom Findlay. Now in it’s 14th year this has become an well established city festival bringing together the capitals leading clubland players. With some of the best artists in the festival circuit from underground house, techno to chart topping bands, this year including Mø, Zack Abel, Waze and Odyssey, Patrick Topping, Sango, Hannah Wants.
Jose Cuervo have made their residency well know as a partner of LoveBox with the presence of their Tequilla Town, Summery beats and frozen Margaritas.
Most Creative Sets
BoomTown Fair – Winchester 11th- 14th August- £135
Step into a world of theatrical excitement as this festival takes you into a world of surrealism. Since its introduction in 2009, BoomTown has become one of the most inspiring independent festivals. The pop up village is split over eight expansive districts that concentrates on the arts and creativity. It lets you step into a world of mythos fantasy where huge sofas make you feel like a borrower and the magical forest brings out the fairy in you. Every music genre is celebrated from ska, reggae, punk, bass, jungle and techno. Artists featured are; Fun Lovin Criminals, Leftover Crack, Sonic Boom Six, Calibre, Ed Solo & Benny Page, Roni Size and Tippa Irie.
BoomTown is more than just a festival they push ethical practices wherever possible. Having affiliations with several charities, such as Oxfam, they also have several collections including a food collection system, an Eco – Bond system that exchanges waste for £10 and a Ring Pull collection to help support children and families living in poverty in the Philippines. The various campaigns running throughout the duration show the spirit of a real town community.
Ultimate Indie Classic
Leeds/ Reading Festival 26th – 28th Aug -£215
There’s no better way to spend your August bank holiday than listening to Indie classics at the Redding or Leeds Festival. Providing a platform for rising and established indie, hip hop, dance and alternative acts this years line up consists of the likes of Red Hot Chilli Peppers, The Courteeners, Nas, Lion Babe, Two Door Cinema Club.
Outlook Festival- Fort Punta Cristo Pula 31st Aug – 4th Sep -£130
This festival was started as a subsidiary of the Leeds event SubDub. The bassy soundsystems are set to blow your mind in the castle forte ruins. With the opening night held in Pula Ampithere, this is a go hard festival that combines a mix of sunshine and a dedication to sound culture. The festival hosts a number of boat parties bringing a celebratory fusion of reggae, hip hop, dub, drum and bass, garage and house. Boasting an array of world class artists this year showcases the likes of Joey Badass, Irration Steppas, Gentlemans Dubclub, High Focus Records, Damien Marley, Noisia, MJ Cole.
One of Outlook’s partners is SubPac which is revolutionary wearable technology that transfers the physical dimensions of music to your body. It makes you feel like you’re in front of a sound system. Pretty cool right.

Mint Festival – Leeds 24th – 25th September- £35
A rising star in the festival world, Mint Festival has been around since 2011, this two day festival is a secret gem. Last year saw the likes of Elrow, Hot Since 82, Maya Jane Cole, Skepta, Green Velvet, Skream and Sonny Fodera tearing up the circus tents. The 2016 Line up t.b.c.This circus themed event bringing you the best in House, UK Garage, Techno, Deep House and Grime is the best way to end the festival season.
