Symbol And Text Based Concepts
We provided symbol and text based concepts that would work well both in print and digital, as well as in watermarks across his imagery.
The first concept was circular and referred to the shutter of a camera, surrounding a “C”, whilst the second concept was square and based on turning Charles Turner’s initials into a connecting symbol.
These concepts were all in two tone in grey as the final concept would be used as a watermark on top of the client’s photographs. As the logo would be displayed alongside photographs in various colours, we did not want it to interfere with or limit the choice of imagery in any way.Back to top
Stylised Symbol And Clean Typography
The client chose the initial based concept. The two letters fit neatly into a square, creating a shape similar to that of a stylised camera.
The final typography is clean, professional, placing emphasis on the name of the photographer.Back to top
Quicker Loading Times and Intelligent Caching
The client required a user-friendly, image-based portfolio design that would display his photographic work in high resolution and large view for the highest impact.
Having explored the various coding options with the client we opted for a Flash based website in order to best display his images in a fluid, high resolution format. Additionally this allowed for quicker loading times, intelligent caching and a more intelligent ‘rich-client’ like experience with complex animation transitions.
In this instance, the client didn’t feel SEO was a high priority for his business as he is well known within his industry and predicted that most of his website traffic would be direct visitors.Back to top
Captivate Users and Emphasise Quality
Our objective was to create a clean, professional portfolio design that captivates users and displays Charles Turner’s new brand, where emphasis is put on his high quality images and therefore demonstrates the excellent value he provides to his high-profile clients.
Aside from the focus upon imagery, the website needed to include links to all the relevant social media channels. Additionally, it needed to incorporate Charles Turner’s biography and contact information to provide any new / prospective clients a simple process through which they could learn about and connect to the company.Back to top
Designed To Create Trust
The final website design effectively displays high-resolution images that alternate every 6 seconds through a simple Flash animation process. This time frame is just long enough to allow the viewer to observe the photograph in some detail without losing interest.
Testimonials from previous clients discretely scroll into the display area, providing information relevant to the photo on the screen.
This was designed with the aim of creating a feeling of trust in the company from prospective clients as it demonstrates the level of clientele that the company has previously worked for.
