Friendly And Approachable Brand Image
Westway, a housing association, approached Jerrard Wayne Creatives to rebrand from their original text based logo in order to establish a more friendly and approachable brand image.
They wanted a new creative and friendly logo that would embody the “W” in their name and represent how people-centric their brand is.Back to top
Warm Hues And Relatable Symbols
We started our design process with the brand colours in mind, and chose a warm hue to create a friendly and positive feeling.
Our concepts were based around the “W” resembling a person with widely open arms and a house-based symbol. Both logos were clean, crisp, and professional, whilst remaining friendly and relatable.Back to top
Bold, Rounded Text And Positive Symbol
Westway chose the ‘W’ symbol with widely open arms reaching upwards, representing the positive, friendly, and open ethos of the company.
The word “Westway” was displayed in the brand’s blue and used a professional, but bold and slightly rounded font that communicated approachability to potential clients.
Digital Presentation To Document Growth
In celebration of the 25th Anniversary, Westway Housing Association required a digital presentation design to document the chronological growth of the company, in providing shelter to those in need.
The presentation was to be heavily image based and would scroll on a large screen behind a speaker, during a celebratory event.
The core audience at the event would have been involved with the Association over the last 25 years – those who had been housed, previous and current employees, stakeholders and colleagues throughout the Boroughs of operation.Back to top
Dynamic And Fluid
The company had 25 years worth of printed newsletters, magazine coverage, photos and documentation, all of which needed to be scanned in a high resolution format to create separate slides with individual captions, describing the company’s journey from conception until present day.
In order to create a dynamic and fluid presentation design, that would continuously loop throughout the event we opted to create the presentation within Flash, to allow for smooth transitions between ‘slides’.
Each scan was imported into Flash and captioned accordingly, before becoming part of the overall animation, which would loop throughout the event.Back to top
Tell The Story; Professional And Polished
The final presentation design was high resolution, professional and polished. All historical images were retouched and edited in order to create the most visually appealing aesthetic for the viewer and increase the quality of the older images, to provide consistency throughout the presentation.
As the digital presentation was just a scrolling visual behind speakers during the celebratory event, the focus of the presentation was given directly to the images, in order to tell the company’s story.
Additionally, the 22 minute-long presentation remained fluid within Flash, whereas other programs may have struggled with the size of the project.Back to top
Consistent With Overall Branding
Once the branding stage was complete, Westway Housing Association required new business cards, in order to reflect the new brand.
To remain consistent with the overall brand identity, the business card design was kept fairly simple.Back to top
Simple And Effective
Utilising the brand colours of blue, orange and white, the business card concepts were simple, effective and suitable for a corporate market.
The logo, combined with the use of orange, really does bring the brand to life on print materials and presents the card’s owner as a approachable and professional individual, when representing the company.Back to top
400 gsm Matte-Laminated
The final business card designs were printed onto a 400gsm matte laminated stock, both sides, in full colour. Corners were kept at the traditional 90 degree angles.
The products are traditional in style, with a fresh approach in presenting the company.Back to top
